This Privacy Policy describes how SolveUp ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Popular Book Store, Chandigarh, India, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our Service at solveup.in.

We are committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with India's Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

We do not collect your location, contacts, camera (except when you use Capture to Solve, coming soon), or any data beyond what is listed above.

To authenticate your account and keep it secure
To generate personalised answers, tests, and analytics
To send push notifications you have opted into (weekly test alerts)
To process subscription payments via Razorpay
To improve the accuracy and relevance of our AI responses
To communicate important updates about your account or the Service

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate SolveUp:

Firebase (Google) — phone number authentication. Privacy policy
Supabase — database hosted in Mumbai (ap-south-1 region). Privacy policy
Anthropic (Claude AI) — generates doubt answers and test questions. Doubt text is sent to Anthropic's API. Privacy policy
Voyage AI — generates embeddings for search. Doubt text is sent to Voyage's API.
Razorpay — payment processing. We never store your card or banking details. Privacy policy
Railway — backend hosting. Privacy policy

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Doubt logs and test results may be retained in anonymised, aggregated form to improve the Service.

5. Data Security

Your data is stored in Supabase's Mumbai region (within India). We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure JWT session tokens, and Firebase's hardened authentication infrastructure.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate personal data
Request deletion of your personal data
Withdraw consent for data processing (this will result in account termination)

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. The updated policy will be effective from the date posted on this page.
